The Georgia Department of Corrections does not tolerate contraband in any of our facilities. If an employee, volunteer, visitor, or offender in our facilities is found to have or be transporting contraband, they are arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This page contains information about contraband arrests in and around GDC facilities.

If you bring contraband, including cell phones, into any GDC facility, you will be prosecuted. Georgia law (O.C.G.A. 42-5-18) requires a penalty of one to five years in prison for any individual who introduces this contraband into a prison facility, and/or provides these items to an offender, as well as to any offender found with any of these items in their possession while under incarceration.
