Human Resources
The Human Resources department at GDC Headquarters is the primary human resources office for the Georgia Department of Corrections. It is responsible for all human resources functions for the approximately 6,900 employees.
The central office Human Resources department provides support to the agency's employees by developing, coordinating, monitoring, evaluating, and administering personnel functions agency wide. Additionally, it provides oversight, consultation, technical assistance, and policy direction for corrections facilities and various departmental units located across the state, which are responsible for carrying out personnel functions at the local level.

Call Center
The Call Center is a centralized team of 20 personnel within the Administration division committed to providing quality customer service in handling offender information inquires.
The Call Center utilizes state-of-the-art technology/equipment to handle approximately 20,000-25,000 calls per month supporting the Headquarters staff, 20 State Prison facilities and the State Board of Pardons and Paroles.
Fleet Management
Headquartered in Forsyth, Ga., Fleet Management oversees compliance with state vehicle rules and regulations, and vehicle repairs and services for over 1,550 agency state vehicles. In this capacity, Fleet Management advises Executive leadership regarding vehicle compliance, purchases, maintenance and repair. In addition, Fleet Management works hand-in-hand with Regional Business offices, Division Vehicle Coordinators and support personnel regrading compliance with vehicle programs, policies, maintenance and repair. Fleet Management operates a 13-bay automotive facility providing services in engine, transmission, brake & suspension, paint & body, and provides On-The-Job Training (OJT) for Automotive Mechanics and Auto Body Repair. Annualized cost savings is approximately $1.5 million/year utilizing offender labor.

Risk Management
The purpose of GDC’s Risk Management Services(RMS) coordinator is to enhance the Department’s mission to protect and enhance public safety by coordinating all facets of Property, All Risk, Automobile and liability insurance programs. The Risk Management team ensures correctness of content values within BLLIP and All Risk inventory. RMS also oversees claims reporting and invoicing and serves as the liaison to DOAS for audits of GDC facilities for compliance with the State’s Comprehensive Loss Control Program.
