Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

On September 9 at Wilcox SP, Visitor Adrian Hulin entered the facility's front entrance to visit an offender. Visitor Hulin was unable to clear the scanner and four bundles wrapped in black tape were confiscated. The bundles contained the following contraband: 6 cell phones, 6 chargers, 2 pairs of earbuds, and 2 SIM cards. Abbeville Police Department was notified, and Visitor Hulin was arrested.

On September 4 at Calhoun SP, canine officers observed an unidentified individual walking in the woods. Canine officers began a search of the area and contacted the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office (So) for assistance. The Calhoun County SO's search of the area led to the arrest of Civilian Raheem Brown. The canine officers later found a black duffle bag and a black backpack in the woods that contained the following contraband: 2,244 grams of marijuana, 492 grams of tobacco, 3 pint-sized bottles of codeine, 6,570 grams of tobacco, 33 cellphones, 33 charging cords, 10 charging blocks, 38 packs of Bugler rolling paper, and 6 colorful plastic bags. 

On September 3 at Calhoun SP, the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office notified the facility that they observed 2 civilians walking near the facility. A search of the area was conducted where civilians Derrick Corbin, Stanton Bowman, and Odarien Baldwin were apprehended, and 2 black backpacks containing the following contraband were recovered: 962 grams of marijuana, 11 android cellphones, 11 cellphone chargers, 4 charging blocks, 7 packs of cigars, 6 lighters, 66 packs of rolling paper and 4,794 grams of tobacco. Civilians Corbin, Bowman, and Baldwin were placed under arrest with charges pending. 

On September 1 at Dodge SP, a vehicle was observed near the facility. A search of the area was conducted, and a civilian, drone, and backpack were located. The bag contained the following contraband: 328 grams of bottled moonrocks, 1,404 grams of tobacco, 942 grams of marijuana, 14 packs of rolling paper, 3 cellphones, 2 cellphone chargers and 1 DJI Inspire 2 drone controller. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Dodge County Jail.
