Contraband Arrests at Wilcox State Prison

On March 6 at Wilcox SP, two civilians were spotted near the facility. OPS Canine Units and Abbeville Police Department were notified. Civilians Bernard Stanfield and Janari Farmer were apprehended and had in their possession the following contraband: 1 drone and 1,835 grams of marijuana. Civilians Stanfield and Farmer were arrested by Abbeville Police Department and transported to Wilcox County Jail with charges pending.

On March 8 at Wilcox SP, two civilians were spotted near the facility. OPS Canine Units and Wilcox County Sheriff's Office were notified. The two civilians were located and taken into custody. After a search of the perimeter, the following contraband was located:  1 tablet, 1 charger cord, 1 charger block, 870 grams of tobacco, and 5 packs of wrapping paper.

On March 9 at Wilcox SP, two civilians were spotted near the facility. The GDC Canine Unit was contacted to assist with a search of the area. The contraband located consisted of 2,730 grams of tobacco, 1,795 grams of marijuana, 164 grams of ecstasy pills, 53 grams of methamphetamine, 23 packs of rolling papers and 1 cigarette lighter. The two unidentified civilians, along with another civilian who was driving the vehicle, were arrested by Wilcox County Sheriff's Office and transported to Wilcox County jail pending charges.

On March 11 at Wilcox SP, Civilian Enrique Martinez was spotted near the facility. Martinez was taken into custody by Wilcox County Sheriff's Office. After a search, contraband was located which consisted of: 239 grams of marijuana, 1,470 grams of tobacco and 5.5 grams of cocaine. Civilian Martinez was arrested by Wilcox County Sheriff's Office and transported to Wilcox County jail with pending charges.
