Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

On February 2 at Calhoun SP, Visitor Shamatia Horne entered the facility to visit an offender when security staff observed an irregular image on her person. After being questioned, Visitor Horne admitted to having contraband, which consisted of 692 grams of tobacco and 4 packs of rolling papers. Calhoun County Sheriff's Office was notified, and Visitor Horne was arrested with charges pending. 

On February 3 at Dooly SP, the GDC Canine Unit observed 2 suspicious subjects near the facility. The Dooly County Sheriff's Office was also notified and apprehended the 2 civilians with the following contraband: 1008 grams of marijuana, 9412 grams of tobacco,20 cellphones, 10 vapes, 28 fl oz of alcohol, 1 digital scale, 6 charging blocks, 16 USB cords, 3 blunt sprays, and 56 lighters. They were transported to the Dooly County Sheriff's Office with pending charges.

On February 9 at Pulaski SP, the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office stopped a vehicle near the facility. The vehicle was searched, and 19 2-liter bottles and a weapon were found inside. The vehicle's occupants were two 19-year-old males and 1 16-year-old male. The three suspects were taken into custody by Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.
