Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

On April 5 at ASMP, during visitation, security staff noticed that an offender had a strong odor of marijuana coming from his person. After searching him, security staff found a package wrapped in black tape, which contained 14 grams of methamphetamine, 11 grams of marijuana, and 182 unknown pills. During the investigation, it was revealed that Visitor Jessica Coursey passed the package to the offender. Visitor Coursey was arrested by Richmond County Sheriff's Office and was transported to Richmond County Jail. 

On April 6 at Dooly SP, Nurse Holly Collins was processing in at the front bunker to report for work, and the following contraband was found in her possession: 4 packs of cigarettes and 4 packs of nicotine. Nurse Collins was arrested by Dooly County Sheriff's Office and transported to Dooly County Jail.

On April 10 at Hays SP, security staff located contraband in the office of Nurse Practitioner (NP) Timothy Turner. The contraband consisted of a cellphone, wireless earbuds, and 2 homemade metal weapons. NP Turner was arrested by Chattooga County Sheriff's Office and was transported to Chattooga County Jail.

On April 11 at Hancock SP, the GDC Canine Unit noticed 2 unidentified suspects in the woodline near the facility. The Hancock County Sherriff's Office detained the suspects and they were taken to the Hancock County Detention Center with pending charges.

On April 17 at Macon SP, security staff was alerted to an unknown person near the facility. Staff responded to the area, and the unidentified suspect ran towards the facility's wood line. Macon County Sheriff's Office was notified, and the area was searched, where 2 tote bags were found in a ditch. The contraband consisted of the following: 8 cellphones, 9 charging cables, 9 tattoo guns, 4 packs of J-B Weld, 2 electric razors, 13 razor guards, 2 pairs of shoes, 5 pairs of socks, 1 headband, 7 Briefs, 5 pairs of garden gloves, 3 shirts, 182 THC gummies, 2 blunt sprays, 33 lighters, 1 bottle of ink, 4250 grams of tobacco.  The unidentified suspect was apprehended and transported to Macon County Sheriff's Office. 

On April 28 at Dooly SP, a suspicious vehicle was located near the facility that was occupied by 3 civilians: Jerome Lester, Keimon Ukponrefe, and Andrea Wiederkehr. A search was conducted, and the following contents were found: 2025 grams of tobacco, 12 packs of rolling paper, 12 packs of cigarettes, 6 packs of burglars, 2 packs of pain medication, 6 earbuds, 6 charging blocks, 9 charging cables, a pair of pliers, 1 hammer, 1 fish scale, 1 night vision device, 1 charging bank, 4 rolling tapes, 12 bottles of vape juice, 1 lighter, 1 pack of razors, 3 cellphones, 1 nail clipper, 3 vapes, 2 drones, 2 controllers, batteries and cases for the drones. Civilians Jerome Lester, Keimon Ukponrefe, and Andrea Wiederkehr were arrested and taken to Dooly County Jail with pending charges.

On April 28 at Dooly SP, 2 civilians were seen carrying duffel bags near the facility. The GDC Canine Unit and Dooly County Sheriff's Office were notified of the incident. Civilians Jordan Person and Rucker Willendrick were apprehended with the duffel bags, which contained the following contraband: 1752 grams of marijuana, 5062 grams of tobacco, 26 packs of burglars, 2 earbuds, 10 charging blocks, 9 charging cables, a pair of shoes, 1 digital scale, 23 lighters, 7 cellphones, a shirt, 23 vapes, and 1 sweatpant. Civilian Jordan Person and Rucker Willendrick were arrested and taken to Dooly County Jail with pending charges.
