Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons
On June 15 at Telfair SP, the facility was notified that a suspicious person was nearby. Telfair County Sheriff's Office (SO) stopped a vehicle near the entrance to the facility and identified the driver as Emma Klingenberg. Telfair County SO and GDC Canine apprehended a suspect in the wood line and identified him as Terrel Williams. Civilian Williams had a backpack containing the following contraband: 19 cellphones, 21 charging blocks, 26 charging cords, 11 headphones, 11 lighters, 11 packs of rolling papers, 3 hotspots, 1 phone battery, 2 phone activation papers, 1 sim card, 1 pack of cigarettes, 1 vape pen, 2 bracelets, 1 oxycodone pill, 1 bottle of alcohol, 2 grams of marijuana, 30 grams of meth, and 2,132 grams of tobacco. Both suspects were arrested by Telfair County and transported to jail with charges pending.
On June 19 at Hays SP, facility leadership was notified that the Summerville Police Department had a vehicle with 3 civilians detained after being seen leaving state property. The vehicle was occupied by civilians Kevin Ellison, Kieran Jackon, and Hennessy Frazier. During the search of the vehicle, three two-liter soda bottles wrapped in black duct tape with a set of bolt cutters were located. Summerville Police Department detained and transported the 3 civilians to Chattooga County Jail with pending charges.
On June 30 at Wilcox SP, the Abbeville Police Department (PD) notified facility leadership that they observed a civilian near the facility. Abbeville PD was able to apprehend ex-offender Jacori Loyd with a backpack that contained the following: 4971 grams of tobacco, 2 cellphones,16 headphones, 9 lighters, 2 multi-tools, 1 pocketknife, 1 pair of clippers, 1 gaming backbone, 4 clothing items, and 2 chargers. He was transported to Abbeville County Jail with pending charges.
