Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,662 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On March 12 at Central State Prison, a person was seen throwing contraband on facility grounds. A search found bundles of unknown contraband. An unidentified individual was arrested and transported to the Bibb County Jail.
On March 10 at Rogers State Prison, Civilian Johnaaron Jones was observed entering a vehicle near the facility. A search of the area found bundles of tobacco and methamphetamine. A traffic stop was conducted where Jones was arrested and transported to the Tattnall County Jail.
