New Deputy Warden of Administration at Smith State Prison
Remona Holloway Reassigned
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the reassignment of Remona Holloway, Deputy Warden of Administration at Augusta State Medical Prison (ASMP) to Deputy Warden of Administration at Smith State Prison (SP) effective November 1, 2025. As Deputy Warden, Holloway will be responsible for the management of the facility's business office, property/supply operations, and food service departments.
"Holloway has demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in each position she has held within GDC," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We are confident she will continue to lead with integrity as she manages the business operations at Smith SP."
Holloway began her career with the department in 1998 as Correctional Officer at Frank Scott State Prison (SP), and in 1999, she transferred to ASMP. While at ASMP, she was promoted to Facility Property Supervisor, Account ParaPro, Business Manager, and Human Resources Technician. In 2016, she was promoted to Human Resources Supervisor at the Metro Complex, and in 2019, she transferred to Phillips State Prison (SP) in the same capacity. In 2021, Holloway was promoted to North Region Recruitment Supervisor while at Phillips SP, and in 2022 she was promoted to the North Region Human Resources Manager at the North Region Office. In 2024, she was promoted to Deputy Warden of Administration at Augusta State Medical Prison, where she currently serves.
Her departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Management Training, Supervision I, II, and III, Effective Communication Training, Professional Management Training through Columbus State University, POST Instructor Training, Human Resources Academy, and Recruitment Training.
