Kenneth Mantle Reassigned

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the reassignment of Kenneth Mantle to Statewide County Prison Coordinator, effective June 1, 2024. As County Prison Coordinator, Mantle will be responsible for overseeing the operation of 21 county facilities in counties across the state.

“Since joining the GDC team, Mantle has gained invaluable knowledge and proven himself to be a leader in each of the positions he has held within the agency,” said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. “We are confident he will excel in this next step in his commitment to GDC and the citizens of Georgia.”

Mantle began his career with the Department in 2010 as Executive Assistant to the Commissioner, and in 2015, he was promoted to Director of Offender Administration.  In 2021, he was promoted to Statewide Transitional Center Coordinator, where he currently serves. Prior to joining the Department, he served as a Parole Officer with the Georgia State Board of Pardons and Paroles from 2008 to 2010. Mantle served in the 10th Security Forces with the United States Air Force from 2000-2004 and currently serves in the Georgia Air National Guard. 

Mantle earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of North Georgia. He has completed the following departmental training: Peace Officer Standards Training Instructor Training, Firearms Instructor Training, and Corrections Leadership Institute.
