Christopher McAllister Reassigned

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the reassignment of Christopher McAllister to Deputy Warden of Security at Hays State Prison (SP) effective February 1, 2023. As Deputy Warden of Security, McAllister will be responsible for overseeing security staff members and 1,100 medium security male offenders at the facility.

"McAllister has been a dedicated leader in each position he has held," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "His experience and knowledge will greatly benefit the staff and offenders at Hay SP."

McAllister began his career with the GDC in 2001 as a Correctional Officer at Walker SP, and in 2003 he was promoted to Sergeant. In 2012, he was promoted to Captain at Hays SP, and in 2016 he was promoted to Unit Manager. In 2020, he was promoted to Deputy Warden of Security at Walker SP, where he currently serves. 

McAllister's departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Sergeants Academy, Supervision I, II, and III, and Deputy Warden of Security Training.
