New Deputy Warden of Security at Dooly State Prison

Calvin Reeves Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Calvin Reeves to Deputy Warden of Security at Dooly State Prison (SP), effective January 1, 2023. As Deputy Warden of Security, Reeves will be responsible for overseeing security staff members and 1,614 close security male offenders at the facility.
"During his thirty-year tenure with the agency, Reeves has shown exceptional leadership skills while working his way up through the ranks," said Commissioner Tyrone Oliver. "We are confident his correctional knowledge will benefit the staff and offenders at Dooly SP."
Reeves began his career with the GDC in 1993 as a Correctional Officer at Dodge SP. He transferred to Pulaski SP in 1996, and in 2005 he was promoted to Sergeant at Telfair SP. In 2008 Reeves was promoted to Lieutenant at Wilcox SP, and in 2020 he was promoted to Captian at Valdosta SP, where he currently serves.
Reeves' departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Sergeants Academy, Field Officer Training, TACT Squad Basic, Management I, II, and III, and Supervision I, II, and III.
