New Deputy Warden of Administration at Whitworth Women’s Facility

Beau Powell Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Beau Powell to Deputy Warden of Administration at Whitworth Women’s Facility (WF) effective January 1, 2022. As Deputy Warden of Administration, Powell will be responsible for overseeing the business office, property/supply operations and food service departments at the facility which houses approximately 440 medium security female offenders.
“Powell has proven himself to be a capable leader,” said Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “We are confident that he will excel in his new role as Deputy Warden of Administration at Whitworth WF.”
Powell began his career with the GDC in 2018 with the Office of Professional Standards as a Statewide Compliance Specialist, where he currently serves.
Powell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Georgia College and State University, and a Master’s in Business Administration from Piedmont College. His department training consists of National Institute of Corrections Auditor Training, and Offender Mental Health Training.
