Jennifer Clark Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Jennifer Clark to Private Prison Monitor at Wheeler Correctional Facility, effective December 16, 2020. As Private Prison Monitor, Clark will be responsible for monitoring the facility’s operations to ensure that all contract conditions are met and the facility operates with a continuous focus on sanitation, safety and security.

“Clark has proven herself to be a dedicated and steadfast leader,” said Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “I am confident in her abilities to successfully oversee the operations of Wheeler Correctional Facility.”

Clark began her career with the Georgia Department of Corrections in 2002 as a Secretary at Georgia State Prison (SP). In 2004, she was promoted to the Warden’s Secretary at Georgia SP and served in that capacity until she was promoted to Business Manager in 2010. In 2012, Clark was promoted to Deputy Warden of Administration at Rogers SP, and was promoted to Deputy Warden of Care & Treatment in 2016. Clark was promoted to Superintendent at Emanuel Probation Detention Center in 2017, where she currently serves.

Clark holds an Associate degree in Business Administration from South University, a Bachelor’s degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Business, Criminal Justice and Justice Administration from Georgia Southern University, and a Master’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University. She has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training , Basic Management Training, Advanced Management Training, Professional Management Program, Corrections Leadership Institute, Governmental Accounting I & II, Warden’s Pre-Command, and Deputy Warden of Care & Treatment Academy.
