Commissioner: Timothy C. Ward
Director of Public Affairs: Joan Heath
Donating Money and Items
FORSYTH, Ga. – On November 24, residents from Lee Arrendale Transitional Center celebrated the holiday season by giving back to their community through the Habersham Community Paramedicine Program. Through their generous donations they were able to present the program with a $1,075 check, along with a multitude of non-perishable items.
“GDC is honored to partner with our local communities in providing assistance to those in need,” said Commissioner Timothy C. Ward. “This show of kindness is evidence the residents are committed to giving back, and becoming productive citizens of communities when they are released.”
The Habersham Community Paramedicine Program provides assistance with public health, primary healthcare, and preventative services to underserved populations in the community. Their primary role is to provide home visits to the underserved who have chronic illnesses such as congestive heart failure, mental disorders, lung disease, and diabetes to help them comply with their prescribed treatment plans.
