Inmate Death Being Investigated as Apparent Suicide

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is investigating the death of an inmate at Rogers State Prison in Reidsville, Ga.
On January 28 at 1:15 a.m., Correctional Officers found inmate Bobby Andrew Garlin (GDC #1001922760) unresponsive. Tattnall County Emergency Medical Services attempted to revive him and he was pronounced deceased at 3:27 a.m. by the Tattnall County Coroner. GDC is conducting an investigation into the death, as standard procedure.
Garlin was sentenced to 10 years in 2016, in Floyd County, for Aggravated Stalking and Criminal Damage. Then in 2017, in Floyd County, he was sentenced to 5 years for Aggravated Stalking and Terrorist Threats and Acts.
