Donna Tebought Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Gregory C. Dozier announced the promotion of Donna Tebought to Director of Risk Reduction/Transitional Services and Chaplaincy effective January 1, 2017. As Director, Tebought leads the operations and oversight of the Counseling Services, Cognitive Behavioral programs, Research and Development, Substance Abuse programs, effective program implementation, Reentry initiatives, and Chaplaincy Services. 

“Donna has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from the various positions she has held within the Department,” said Commissioner Dozier. “She is also a trained facilitator in a number of cognitive based programs and has trained numerous staff on how to facilitate these classes.”

Tebought began her career with the Department in 1993 as a Correctional Officer at Metro State Prison. In 1994, she transferred to the Central DeKalb Probation Office to serve as a Probation Officer. She later became a Counselor at the Jimmy Helms Diversion Center and was promoted to Senior Counselor in 2001. She transferred to Rockdale DeKalb Probation Detention Center, in 2003, and served as a Counselor. In 2004, Tebought was promoted to Program Development Consultant with RRS, and in 2006, she was promoted to Program Director of the Cognitive Behavioral Unit of RRS. In 2013, she was promoted to Senior Manager of the Behavioral Unit of RRS. Tebought was then promoted to Director of Risk Reduction Services in 2014, where she most recently served.

Tebought holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of New York at New Paltz and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Columbus State University. She has completed the following departmental training: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Basic Management Training (BMT), POST Instructor Training (POST IT), and Corrections Leadership Institute (CLI).
