Khalilah Williams promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the promotion of Khalilah Williams to Deputy Warden of Care & Treatment at Dodge State Prison effective October 15, 2016. As Deputy Warden, Williams will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of medical, mental health, education and counseling services of over 1,200 medium security male offenders.

“Khalilah possesses a great deal of knowledge in the Care & Treatment field,” said Commissioner Bryson. “With over 15 years of experience, I know she will excel in her new position as Deputy Warden.”

Williams began her career with the Department in 2001 as a Counselor at Johnson State Prison.  In 2014, she was promoted to Chief Counselor at Johnson, where she currently serves.

Williams earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Albany State University. She has completed the following department training: Basic Management Training (BMT), Advanced Management Training (AMT), Basic Counselor Training, and National Institution of Corrections’ Auditors Training.

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
