Two graduations held at Appling Integrated Treatment Facility

FORSYTH, Ga. – On March 16 and March 23, Appling Integrated Treatment Facility held two graduations for their RSAT (Residential Substance Abuse Treatment) program. Nine offenders graduated March 16 and three graduated on March 23.

“We are so proud of the progress Appling’s RSAT program has made,” said Commissioner Bryson. “In 2016 alone, 58 men have been rehabilitated and have returned to their communities.”

Spectrum partners with the facility to implement this three-phase, nine-month program. Each phase has a separate curriculum, in which, each detainee is required to complete a progression worksheet. The modality of the program is cognitive behavioral therapy, implemented in a therapeutic community. Upon completing the program and receiving their certificates, each detainee is able to return to society.

The detainees completed classes such as Therapeutic Interventions, Substance Abuse Education, Psycho Education, Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment, Integrated Skills Training Skills, Correctional Recovery Training, Relapse Prevention, Therapy Groups, Co-Occurring Disorders Treatment, Pro-Social Leisure and Positive Outlets, Twelve Step, Thought Process and Continuing Care Planning with a Personal Portfolio.
