Information regarding the closure of State facilities due to inclement weather is located on the Department of Administrative Services, Human Resources Division (DOAS-HRA) website.

For situations that affect Georgia Department of Corrections administrative support personnel, notifications of office closings will be made in accordance with procedures established by DOAS-HRA.

The decision to close state offices statewide or within a specific geographic region is made by the Governor.  However, for situations not widespread enough to cause a closing directed by the Governor, the decision to close a particular office, or group of offices, shall be made by the Chief of Staff after consultation with the Commissioner.  Employee notification of such a situation will be the responsibility of the operating Division or, in the case of State Offices South at Tift Campus, the unit of assignment.
