LuWonder Ingram Promoted

Forsyth — Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens announced the promotion of LuWonder Ingram to Deputy Warden of Administration at Emanuel Women’s Facility effective September 16, 2014.  Ingram will be responsible for overseeing the Business Office, Property/Supply Operations, Maintenance and Food Service departments at the facility located in Swainsboro, Ga., which houses more than 400 female inmates.

“LuWonder brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position,” said Commissioner Owens.  “Her promotion will greatly benefit the staff and inmates at Emanuel.”

Ingram began her career with the Department in 2006 as an Accounting Paraprofessional at Men’s State Prison. She was promoted to the position of Business Manager at Rivers State Prison in 2007. She transferred to Baldwin State prison following the closure of Rivers State Prison in 2008. In 2012, she was promoted to Business Manager at Baldwin State Prison, where she most recently served.

Ingram holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Georgia College and State University.  She has completed departmental courses in Governmental Accounting, Performance Management Process Training, Business Management Training and Corrections Leadership Institute. 

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 55,000 state prisoners and more than 160,000 probationers.  It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
