Contraband Arrest at Wilcox State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,945 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On November 4 at Wilcox State Prison, two individuals were observed attempting to fly a drone near the facility. A search of facility grounds found methamphetamine, marijuana, tobacco, cell phones, a gun and a drone. Civilian Dionte Mattox and Horace Young were arrested and transported to the Wilcox County Jail.
