Contraband Arrest at Ware State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,924 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On August 27 at Ware State Prison, Ware County Sheriff's Office observed a suspicious vehicle parked adjacent to the facility. GDC Canine was notified and 1 person was apprehended with a backpack with the following contraband: drone, drone battery, tobacco, bottles of liquor, rolling paper, blunt wraps, lighters, charging cables, charging blocks, cellphone and flashlight. The suspect was arrested by the Ware County Sheriff's Office.
