Corrections to Host Military Career Fair

The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) in conjunction with the Georgia National Guard, will host several law enforcement and public safety agencies for a military personnel career fair on Friday, May 30 from 10 a.m. — 2 p.m. at the Horizons Event Center at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Ga.

The current participating agencies (GDC, Georgia National Guard, Department of Juvenile Justice, State Board of Pardons and Paroles, Department of Public Safety, Mental Health Management, Georgia Correctional Healthcare, Corrections Corporation of America, Houston County Sheriff’s Office and DeKalb County Police Department) have many jobs available for military personnel returning from duty. The list of participating agencies is subject to change before the day of the event, therefore we ask that you please check our agency’s website at dcor.state.ga.us for an updated list.

This event is free and open to active duty and transitioning military personnel, National Guard personnel, and reservists who register online at GDCjobs.com.

“The Department of Corrections is looking for the best and brightest to fill our ranks,” said Commissioner Brian Owens. “Our servicemen and women certainly fit that description so we are seeking them out by hosting these job fairs.”

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 55,000 state prisoners and more than 160,000 probationers. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
