Contraband Arrests at Hancock State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,383 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On March 1 at Hancock State Prison, an offender was found with contraband after visitation. A search was performed on visitor Denise Ballard and a bundle was found on her persons that contained marijuana. Ballard was arrested by Hancock County Sheriff's Office.

On February 29 at Hancock State Prison, Visitor Raven Hays seen going out to her car during visitation. A search of her car found marijuana stored in balloons. Hays was arrested by Hancock County Sheriff's Office and taken to the Hancock County Jail. 

On February 29 at Hancock State Prison, an unknown object was observed on Visitor Jeanna Gunter. A search of her person found three small bundles wrapped in tape that contained ecstasy pills and marijuana. Gunter was arrested by Hancock County Sheriff's Office and taken to the Hancock County Jail.
