Contraband Arrest at Telfair State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,428 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On August 9 at Telfair State Prison, security staff spotted an unknown subject near the facility. A search found a male civilian with the following contraband on his person: cellphones, chargers, tobacco, and marijuana. The male civilian was arrested by the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office.
