Commissioner Names New Auditor for Audits and Compliance Unit

Paul Lindner Promoted
Forsyth - Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens announced the promotion of Paul Lindner of Juliette to Auditor for the Audits and Compliance Unit effective Feb. 1.
In his new position, he will be responsible for audits at prisons and probation offices and will serve as a Curriculum Specialist for the Office of Investigations and Compliance.
“Paul has nearly 25 years of experience in different areas within the Department,” Owens said. “His vast knowledge will serve him well in his new position.”
Lindner joined the Department in 1986 as Property and Supply Supervisor at Burruss Correctional Training Center, and in 1997 he assumed the same position in the Special Operations unit. In 2008, he was promoted to Operations Support Manger and was named Business Operations Specialist in 2012, where he most currently served.
Lindner received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Columbus State University and is pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Public Service Administration from Middle Georgia State College.
“I am thrilled to have Paul join our team,” said Director of Audits and Compliance Terry Edge. “He has a wealth of knowledge and experience that he brings. He will be an asset for our division.”
The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 60,000 state prisoners and over 160,000 probationers. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
