Carlotta Ficklin promoted 

FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the promotion of Carlotta Ficklin to Superintendent of Augusta Transitional Center, effective July 16, 2016. As Superintendent, Ficklin will be responsible for overseeing 48 staff members and 205 minimum security male offenders. 

“We are proud to have Carlotta on our team,” said Commissioner Bryson. “With 23 years of dedicated service, she is an asset to the Department.”

Ficklin began her career with the Department in 1993 as a Probation Officer in the Clayton Judicial Circuit. She transferred, in 1996, to the Augusta Probation Office to continue as an Officer. In 2002, Ficklin became the Employment Services Specialists III at Augusta Transitional Center, where she most recently served.

Ficklin has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Wesleyan College. Her departmental training consists of: Basic Probation Officer Training (BCOT), Basic Management Training (BMT), and Advanced Management Training (AMT).  She is certified by the National Institute of Corrections as an Offender Employment Specialist.
