Chabara Davis-Bragg Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. – The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Timothy C. Ward announced the promotion of Chabara Davis-Bragg to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Johnson State Prison (SP) effective May 16, 2022. As Deputy Warden, Davis-Bragg will oversee the supervision of educational programs, health services, library services, counseling programs, recreational services, and the mental health services of approximately 1,400 close security male offenders.
 

“Davis-Bragg has proven her commitment to the agency’s mission during her 15-year career,” said Commissioner Ward. “I am confident that she will be an effective leader in her new position as Deputy Warden.”

Davis-Bragg joined the Department of Corrections in 2006 as a Correctional Officer at Rivers State Prison. She was promoted to Behavioral Counselor at Johnson SP in 2013, and in 2014 she was promoted to Senior Counselor. In 2017, Davis-Bragg was promoted to Recreational Supervisor at Montgomery SP, and in 2018, she was promoted to Chief Counselor at Johnson SP.  She was promoted to Medical Unit Manager in 2021, where she currently serves.

Davis-Bragg earned an associate degree in Business Administration at Interboro Technical College, a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master’s in Professional Counseling. Davis-Bragg has completed the following departmental training: Addiction Certification Preparation Program, and Deputy Warden Academy.
