Paul Lindner promoted

FORSYTH, GA -- Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the promotion of Paul Lindner as the Campus Superintendent of State Offices South at Tift College effective February 16, 2016. Linder will now be responsible for the coordination of full service facilities management for GDC headquarters and training academy.

“Lindner brings with him 29 years of experience with the Department,” said Commissioner Bryson. “He has a vast range of skills which will benefit him greatly in his new role as Campus Superintendent.”

Lindner began his career with the Department in 1986 at Burruss Correctional Training Center. In 1997, he was promoted to Special Operations and was responsible for the management of property, process warranties, surplus and issue and replacement of statewide equipment for all Special Operations teams. In addition, he was responsible for the audits of statewide facility armories, K9 units, fugitive and tactical squads, while acting as liaison for Facility Operations. He was later promoted, in 2008, to Operations Support Manager with Special Operations, where he began managing requisitioning, purchasing, and accountability of equipment and supplies for daily operations, critical incidents response, and call-outs. Additionally, Lindner was responsible for managing the operational analysis, planning of administration, and logistics for field operations. In 2012, he was promoted to Business Operations Specialist for the Operations, Planning, and Training Division. In this role, he led operations management planning, development and implementation for services, functions, and procedures in the areas of the Communications Center, Fleet Management and Planning & Strategic Management. A year later, Lindner was promoted to Auditor for Facility Operations audits with the Compliance unit within the Office of Investigations & Compliance. In addition to that position, he assumed the role of Curriculum Specialist and most recently as Senior Auditor for the Southeast region.

Lindner has an Associate degree in Criminal Justice from Columbus State University and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Public Service Administration from Gordon State College. He is certified as a P.O.S.T. Senior Instructor and Correctional Officer. He received the following departmental training: Professional Management Program, Basic Management Training, Advanced Management Training, and Corrections  Leadership Institute training.

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
