New Deputy Warden of Administration Named at Montgomery State Prison

Pamela McDonald Promoted
FORSYTH, Ga. – Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the promotion of Pamela McDonald to Deputy Warden of Administration at Montgomery State Prison, effective February 1, 2016. As Deputy Warden, McDonald is responsible for overseeing the Business Office, Property/Supply Operations, Maintenance and Food Service departments at the facility housing 900 medium security male inmates located in Mt. Vernon, Ga.
“Pamela has dedicated 22 years of faithful service to the Department,” said Commissioner Homer Bryson. “I am confident that the vast knowledge she holds will positively impact Montgomery State Prison.”
McDonald began her career with the Department in 1994 as a Correctional Officer at Telfair State Prison. In 1995, she was promoted to a Medical Records Clerk. In 1998, she transferred to Montgomery State Prison and served as Store Manager and Account Paraprofessional. She was promoted to Business Manager in 2010, where she most recently served.
McDonald received a certification in Business Management from Swainsboro Technical College. During her career with the Department, she has completed the following training courses: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT); Georgia Emergency Management (GEMA) Training; eProcurement for Approvers and Requestors; Requisition to Purchase Order; Strategic Sourcing; Supplier Contracts Management Training; Introduction to Purchasing Card Principles; Basic Management Training (BMT); and Fundamentals of State Purchasing.
The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
