FORSYTH, Ga. - The execution of condemned murderer Kenneth E. Fults scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson was carried out on April 12, at 7:37 p.m. in accordance with state law. Fults accepted a final prayer and declined to make a final statement.
Fults was sentenced to death in 1997 for the murder of Cathy Bounds.
There have been 63 men and one woman executed in Georgia since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated the death penalty in 1976. Fults was the 41st inmate put to death by lethal injection. There are presently 64 men on death row in Georgia.
