Gregory Paul Lawler to be executed on October 19

FORSYTH, Ga– The Fulton County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Gregory Paul Lawler. The court ordered the Georgia Department of Corrections to carry out the execution on a date between October 19-26, 2016. Commissioner Homer Bryson has set the date for Wednesday, October 19, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7 p.m.

Gregory Paul Lawler was convicted in 2000 for the murder of Atlanta Police Officer John Sowa. If executed, Lawler will be the 44th inmate put to death by lethal injection.
