Execution Date Set for Fulton County Murderer

Gregory Paul Lawler to be executed on October 19
FORSYTH, Ga. – The Fulton County Superior Court has ordered the execution of convicted murderer Gregory Paul Lawler. The court ordered the Georgia Department of Corrections to carry out the execution on a date between October 19-26, 2016. Commissioner Homer Bryson has set the date for Wednesday, October 19, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson at 7 p.m.
Gregory Paul Lawler was convicted in 2000 for the murder of Atlanta Police Officer John Sowa. If executed, Lawler will be the 44th inmate put to death by lethal injection.
