Connie Moody Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga.– Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the promotion of Connie Moody to Deputy Warden of Administration at Rutledge State Prison, effective April 16, 2016. As Deputy Warden, Moody will be responsible for overseeing the Business Office, Property/Supply Operations, Maintenance and Food Service departments at the facility housing over 600 medium security male inmates located in Columbus, Ga.

“Connie possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience,” said Commissioner Bryson. “Having staff with her level of expertise will help us maintain and continue to increase the caliber of our employees."

Moody began her career with the Georgia Department of Corrections in 2004 at Georgia State Prison as a Clerk II.  She was then promoted and served as Secretary II with the Office of Inmate Affairs, Office of Investigations and Compliance, and at the Columbus Day Reporting Center. In 2012, Moody was promoted to Accountant Paraprofessional at Rutledge State Prison and in 2014 she was promoted to Business Manager, where she currently serves.

During her career with the Department, Moody has completed the following training courses: Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT), Basic Management Training (BMT), Advanced Management Training (AMT), Professional Management Program (PMP), Basic Purchasing, Advanced Purchasing, and Fundamentals of State Purchasing.

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 52,000 state prisoners. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 10,500 employees.
