New Assistant Superintendent at Clayton Transitional Center Named

FORSYTH, Ga. — Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Homer Bryson announced the appointment of Kevin Perry, Unit Manager at Phillips State Prison, to Assistant Superintendent at Clayton Transitional Center, effective May 16, 2015. As Assistant Superintendent, he will responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility and will represent the facility in the absence of the Superintendent.
“Kevin’s knowledge and experience will serve him well in this new position,” said Commissioner Bryson. “We look forward to watching him excel in his new role.”
Perry joined the Department in 1993 as a Correctional Officer at Lee Arrendale State Prison. In 2001, he was promoted to Sergeant at Augusta State Medical Prison. He was promoted to Lieutenant at Phillips State Prison in 2005 and later promoted to Captain (Chief of Security) in 2009. In 2010, he was promoted to Unit Manager at Phillips State Prison, where he most recently served.
Perry is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice through Columbus State University. He has completed Basic Correctional Officer Training, Basic Management and Advanced Management Training, and is a graduate of the Professional Management Program and the Deputy Warden’s Academy.
