New Superintendent at Bacon Probation Detention Center Named

Linton Deloach Appointed
Forsyth — Georgia Department of Corrections Commissioner Brian Owens announced the appointment of Linton Deloach to Superintendent of Bacon Probation Detention Center effective October 1, 2014. As Superintendent, Deloach will be responsible for the day to day operations of the facility and overseeing 60 staff members and 232 detainees.
“Linton is a dedicated employee who has excelled through the ranks during his career with the Department,” said Commissioner Brian Owens. “His 21 years of experience will be beneficial to the staff and detainees at Bacon Probation Detention Center.”
Deloach joined the department in 1993 as a Correctional Officer at Lee Arrendale State Prison. In 1997, Deloach was promoted to an Operations Analyst at Smith State Prison and in 1998 he was promoted to Micro Systems Support Specialist at Smith State Prison. In 2008, Deloach was promoted to Correctional Officer/Adjunct Training Instructor at Rogers State Prison. In 2009 he was promoted to Sergeant at Rogers State Prison and in 2011, Deloach was promoted to Lieutenant at Ware State Prison. In 2013, Deloach was promoted to Chief of Security at Georgia State Prison, and in 2014 Deloach was promoted to Unit Manager of Georgia State Prison, where he most recently served.
Deloach received an Associates degree in Electronics from Altamaha Technical College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Columbus State University. During his career with the Department, Deloach has completed the following training courses; Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT); Basic Management Training (BMT); Advanced Management Training (AMT); Professional Management Program (PMP).
