Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

On August 2 at McRae Women's Facility, while attempting to enter the facility for visitation, Civilian Mahogani Felder was unable to clear the body scanner. Civilian Felder consented to a search, and the following contraband was recovered from her person: 12 pieces of jewelry, 1 bag of a white crystallized substance, and 1 bag containing 4 pills. Civilian Felder was arrested by the Telfair County Sheriff's Office and transported to Telfair County Jail with pending charges.

On August 20 at Telfair SP, security staff observed a drone hovering above the facility. Later that evening, the Telfair County Sheriff's Office conducted a stop on a suspicious vehicle, where officers recovered a drone and cellphone. Civilian Stanley Clark was transported to the Telfair County jail with pending charges.

On August 22 at Smith SP, visitor Jennifer Thrasher was interviewed by GDC OPS and admitted to bringing in large amounts of contraband on previous weekends during visitation. Tattnall Sheriff's Office was notified and Thrasher was arrested and transported to Tattnall County Jail with pending charges. 

On August 28 at the Special Management Unit, the Butts County Sheriff's Office arrested Officer Jahime Cole after OPS developed leads indicating that the Officer allowed an Offender to use his personal cellphone.
