Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,882 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On April 24 at Wilcox State Prison, visitor Denise Webb was found with bundles of unknown contraband. Webb was arrested and transported to the Wilcox County Jail.
On April 23 at Dodge State Prison, an individual was spotted near the facility. A search found Civilian Sean Anthony with the following contraband: a package wrapped in black electrical tape and bags containing tobacco. A further search found a vehicle near the facility with civilian Antauris Jackson inside. The following contraband was in the car: marijuana, lighters, USB cords, tobacco, cell phones and cigars. Both civilians were arrested and transported to the Dodge County Jail.
On April 22 at Rogers State Prison, a traffic stop was conducted near the facility. A search of the vehicle found handguns and unopened contraband. Civilians Jeremiah Whitefield and Jacquez Walker were arrested and taken to the Tattnall County Jail.
