Contraband Arrests at Calhoun State Prison
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,506 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On July 11 at Calhoun State Prison, two males were seen being dropped off on facility grounds. A search of the perimeter located marijuana, tobacco, cellphones, and wrenches. A traffic stop found Ronald Presha, Samuel Johnson, Ladarius Walden, and Laquavion Grier responsible for the drop. All four individuals were arrested and transported to the Calhoun County Jail.
On July 9 at Calhoun State Prison, Civilians Brandon Williams and Derick Lamb were seen on the facility’s grounds. They were found with the following contraband: marijuana, tobacco, and cellphones. Both Williams and Lamb were arrested and transported to the Calhoun County Jail.
On July 8 at Calhoun State Prison, Civilian Xavier Morgan was spotted on facility grounds. He was found with the following contraband: marijuana, methamphetamine, tobacco and cellphones. Morgan was arrested and transported to the Calhoun County Jail.
