Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,496 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On June 16 at Rogers State Prison, a person was seen walking toward the facility’s property. Civilian Cassey Joiner was found with multiple bundles of unknown contraband. Civilian Joiner was arrested and transported to Tattnall County Jail.
On June 16 at Calhoun State Prison, an individual was seen on the facility’s cameras. A search found the following contraband: marijuana, tobacco, cell phones and chargers. Civilian David Mitchell was arrested and transported to Calhoun County Jail with pending charges.
