Contraband Arrest at Johnson State Prison
As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,400 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.
On April 12 at Johnson State Prison, civilian Eric Jones was walking near the facility’s perimeter and was found with two bags containing multiple wrapped bundles of unknown contraband. Jones was arrested and taken to the Johnson County Jail. Another civilian, Jerry Boss, was also involved and taken to Johnson County Jail.
