Contraband Arrests at Multiple State Prisons

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,386 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On March 8th at Hays State Prison, Visitor Stacey Dodd was found with meth on her person. She was arrested by Chattooga County Sheriff's Office and transported to Chattooga County Jail.

On March 7th at Hancock State Prison, Visitor Candie Ingram was arrested for having contraband in her car as she was going to visitation. Her vehicle was found with marijuana, an unknown powder substance, and glass smoke pipes. Visitor Ingram was transported to Hancock County Jail.

On March 3rd at Johnson State Prison, while conducting vehicle checks the canine unit alerted on a vehicle driven by Officer Shandricka Sampson. A search of the vehicle was conducted the following contraband was located: pill bottle with an unknown amount of marijuana, gun, ammo and a BB gun. Officer Sampson was placed under arrest by the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
