Contraband Arrests at Rogers State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,170 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On January 6 at Rogers State Prison, Food Service Supervisor Joanna Sorey was arrested by Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office after her vehicle was searched and 2 vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana was discovered.

On January 2 at Rogers State Prison, civilian Kathryn Graham and a parolee were searched at a traffic stop near the facility. During the search, the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office discovered 34 clear plastic bundles of tobacco. Later, while being searched at the jail, a small amount of suspected methamphetamine was found on Graham. Graham and the parolee were arrested by Tatnall County Sheriff’s office.
