Contraband Arrest at Wilcox State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,080 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the state.

On June 17 at Wilcox State Prison, at the end of visitation, an offender was searched and an unknown amount of methamphetamine was found on his person. The offender’s visitor, Tracie Moore, confessed to giving the offender the contraband. Visitor Moore was arrested by the Abbeville Police Department.
