Contraband Arrest at Telfair State Prison

As of July 2010, The GDC Office of Professional Standards, in conjunction with local & federal law enforcement partners, have investigated or arrested approximately 1,057 staff and civilians for introducing contraband into prisons throughout the stat

On April 19 at Telfair State Prison, visitor Tonia Bostick and a minor child attempted to enter the facility. A member of the security staff notified a bulge in the child’s pocket. The child removed 2 round objects wrapped in black electrical tape, which consisted of 29.5 grams of marijuana. Visitor Bostick was placed under arrested by a GDC OPS Special Agent and transported to Telfair County Sheriff’s Office.
