Destiny Caldwell Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Destiny Caldwell, Unit Manager at Burruss Correctional Training Center (BCTC), to Assistant Superintendent at Bleckley Probation Detention Center (PDC), effective April 16, 2026. As Assistant Superintendent, Caldwell will be responsible for assisting the Superintendent with the daily operations of the facility, overseeing staff, and supervising male detainees.

"Destiny has been a dedicated and dependable team member while working her way up through the ranks," said Commissioner Oliver. "We are confident she will continue to uphold the GDC mission while taking on her new role as Assistant Superintendent.”

Caldwell began her career with the GDC in 2016 as a Correctional Officer at Lee State Prison (SP). In 2018, she was transferred to Metro Reentry Facility as a Multi-Functional Officer, and in 2019, she was promoted to Sergeant. In 2023, she was promoted to Lieutenant at Central SP, and in 2024, she was promoted to Unit Manager at BCTC, where she currently serves.  

Caldwell’s departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Supervision I, II, and III, Sergeant’s Academy, Lieutenant’s Academy, Management I, II, and III, and Unit Manager Academy.
