Jacinta Johnson Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Jacinta Johnson, Unit Manager at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison (GDCP), to Deputy Warden of Security at GDCP, effective April 1, 2026. As Deputy Warden of Security, Johnson will be responsible for overseeing security staff members and 2,341 male offenders.

"During her twenty-three years of service, Jacinta has consistently exemplified professionalism and dedication,” said Commissioner Oliver. “We are confident her correctional knowledge will continue to benefit the staff and offenders at GDCP as she takes on her new role as Deputy Warden of Security.”

Johnson began her career with the GDC at Frank Scott State Prison (SP) in 2003 as a Correctional Officer and she was promoted to Sergeant in 2007. After the closure of Frank Scott SP, she was reassigned to Baldwin SP, and in 2019, she was promoted to Lieutenant at GDCP. In 2023, she was promoted to Unit Manager, where she currently serves. 

Johnson’s departmental training consists of Basic Correctional Officer Training, Basic Management, Sergeant’s Academy, Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Chemical Munitions Instructor, Supervision I, II, and III, and Fire Inspector Training.
