Tracey Jackson Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Tracey Jackson, Behavioral Health Counselor Supervisor at Dooly State Prison (SP) to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at Wilcox SP effective March 16, 2026. As Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment, Jackson will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of educational programs, health services, library services, counseling programs, recreational services, and the mental health services of male offenders at the facility.

“Tracey has been a dedicated employee with a remarkable work ethic while working her way up the ranks,” said Commissioner Oliver. “We are confident that her correctional knowledge will continue to prove valuable to our mission and commitment to providing care and treatment avenues for the offender population.”

Jackson began her career with the GDC in 2013 as a part-time instructor at Pulaski SP. While at Pulaski SP, she was promoted through the ranks of Behavioral Health Counselor II, III and Behavioral Health Counselor Supervisor. In 2020, she transferred to Dooly SP as the Behavioral Health Counselor Supervisor, where she currently serves.  

Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in human services from Mercer University, a master’s degree in Addiction Counseling from Grand Canyon University with an emphasis in pastoral ministry. Her departmental training consists of Initial Correctional Counselor Training, Chief Counselor Training, Culture Champion Training, Executive Basic Correctional Officer Training, Supervision I, II, & III, and Management I, II, and III.
