Wendy Miller Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Wendy Miller, Chief Counselor at McRae Women’s Facility (WF) to Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment at McRae WF effective January 16, 2026. As Deputy Warden of Care and Treatment, Miller will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of educational programs, health services, library services, counseling programs, recreational services, and the mental health services of female offenders at the facility.

“Wendy has consistently displayed a strong work ethic and exceptional leadership qualities,” said Commissioner Oliver. “We are confident she will continue to lead with integrity as she takes on this essential role in overseeing vital programming for the offender population at McRae WF.”

Miller began her career with the GDC in 2019 as a Counselor at Telfair SP. In 2020, she was promoted to Counselor II, and in 2022 she was promoted to Senior Counselor. In 2023, she was promoted to Chief Counselor at McRae WF, where she currently serves.  

Miller earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Grand Canyon University, an associate degree in Criminal Justice from the Heart of Georgia Technical College and is currently pursuing a master’s in mental health.  Her departmental training consists of Basic Counselor, Supervision I, II, and III, Management I, II, and III.
