Sheryl Moore Promoted

FORSYTH, Ga. –  The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) Commissioner Tyrone Oliver announced the promotion of Sheryl Moore, Accounting Technician III at Lee Arrendale State Prison, to Deputy Warden of Administration at Lee Arrendale State Prison (SP), effective November 1, 2025. As Deputy Warden of Administration, Moore will be responsible for overseeing the business office, property/supply operations, and food service departments at the facility, which houses approximately 900 female offenders.

“Sheryl has gained a wealth of correctional knowledge as she worked her way up through the ranks while serving in various administrative positions,” said Commissioner Oliver.  “We look forward to seeing her excel in her new role as Deputy Warden of Administration at Lee Arrendale SP.” 

Moore began her career with the State in 1997 as an Accounting Clerk at the Gainesville Diversion Center. During her tenure at the Diversion Center, she was promoted to Paraprofessional Accountant and Center Business Manager. In 2008, she transferred to Lee Arrendale SP and Transitional Center as an Accounting Technician and was later promoted to Accounting Technician III, where she currently serves. 

Moore received an Associate of Arts degree in Business Administration from Gainesville College and attended the University of North Georgia. Her departmental training consists of Georgia Certified Purchasing Associates, Governmental Accounting I and II, and Basic Management Training.
